Why do veterans get so excited about N40 when they play bingo?
Well this may seem like a silly question, but I volunteer at the Veteran’s Hospital helping with bingo. Every time the guy yells out “N 40” everyone gets all excited and yells it back. Is this just a bingo thing in general? Or is it specific to the Veterans? I just want to understand what’s happening better.
Thanks! 🙂

Answer
The excitement around N40 in bingo is not unique to veterans, but rather a common occurrence in bingo games. N40 is simply one of the numbers on the bingo card, and when it is called out, it brings players one step closer to achieving a winning pattern on their card.
In bingo, players mark off the numbers called out by the caller in hopes of completing a winning pattern, which can vary from game to game. Some popular winning patterns in bingo include a straight line, four corners, blackout, and an X shape.
When a player marks off all the numbers in the winning pattern, they yell out “Bingo!” to alert the caller and other players that they have won.
The excitement around N40 (or any other number called out) is simply because it brings players one step closer to completing their winning pattern and potentially winning a prize. It’s a common occurrence in bingo games, and veterans may simply be more vocal or enthusiastic in expressing their excitement.
Overall, bingo is a fun and social game that can bring people together and provide a sense of camaraderie and excitement.
